Charles Lindbergh was an American aviator, military officer, author, inventor, and activist. He was the first person to fly nonstop solo across the Atlantic Ocean on May 20-21, 1927 with his aircraft, Spirit of St. Louis. He caught additional public attention for the kidnapping and murder of his child, as well as his alleged sympathies towards the Nazis during WWII.
