James Butler

James D. Butler was born in 1945 in Ft. Dodge, Iowa. He is an artist living and working in Bloomington, Illinois. He earned his BS (1967) and his M.F.A. (1967) from the University of Nebraska. He was a professor of art at the School of Art at Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois from 1976 to 2009. Butler has numerous outstanding accomplishments in his art career, including founding Normal Editions Workshop in 1976. His vision still influences Normal Editions today
