DescriptionFrazada or blanket, Vallero style in the style of the Montoya family of El Valle, New Mexico. Post-railroad, wool, cotton, synthetic dyes. Vallero, tapestry, two-piece. Central 8-pointed star with 4 stars in the corner, zigzags, diamonds, squares in the field and stripes in the end borders.
The eight-pointed star replaces the Saltillo diamond in the center of the weaving, but the presence of vertical bands of diamonds and zigzags is clearly Saltillo.
Aniline dyes including pink, orange, and red would have added boldness and gaiety to a room.
