DescriptionA refrigerated display case commissioned by the Fred Harvey architect, Mary Elizabeth Jane Colter, for her 1922 remodel of the Alvarado Hotel lunchroom. The case was manufactured by New York's Jewett Refrigeration Company and decorated with La Maya style Batchelder Tile from Los Angeles' Batchelder Tile Co. The case is constructed of tile, copper and mahogany frame, a tinned copper interior, and double-glass panes.
The case functioned originally as a display case for pastries in the Alvarado Hotel lunchroom or coffee shop.
