DescriptionA Jemez Black-on-white storage jar with globular body, lugs for handles on sides of body, stepped triangle designs within a wide design band. Black on white-slipped body.

Jemez Black-on-white pottery spans several important historic periods including the 1680 Pueblo Revolt and the 1692 arrival of Don Diego de Vargas to the province. Jemez Pueblo stopped producing the pottery after 1700, but contemporary potters including Joshua Madalena have revived the type.
