DescriptionTin frame by the Isleta Tinsmith, with a Cobb photographic print of the Pueblo of Isleta, date unknown. Tin frame with reverse glass painting and black and white photograph of Isleta of Pueblo. Frame is comprised of 4, 5.5 cm. glass panels and 4 simple "fans", one at each corner. The fans are the equivalent of a quarter of a circle, and two of them show evidence of original can embossing. The tooling is embossed of single dot dyes in the shape of a large rosette with a curved row of 4 point punch beside it. The edges of the fans are single-bar tooled with a row of large single punches punctuating the scallop lines. The glass pieces are backed by a single piece of tin, (the two pieces of glass and tin) held together with a piece of tin curled around the two and then prepped (?) together. The center frame that holds the photograph is made in the same way. The 5 individual sections are then soldered together - solder is evident on the face of the frame. The painted panels are red & gold irregular waves and the photograph is 14 cm. x 8.2 cm landscape of Isleta Pueblo. It is matted by a piece of black paper. The solders on the back show evidence of pine resin and 2 curled loops, one on either side of the top glass panel, have been soldered for use in hanging.
