    DescriptionA wooden bench or banco, wood. Hispanic New Mexican. Step bench, hand adzed, sawn & planed, open (?) construction reinforced with wood pegs and original shims around (?). Seat made of simple pink hand adzed and pegged to aprons. Front apron is made of 2 boards with opposing "cloud terrace" design at with jigsaw, forming open saltillo diamond design with six diamonds. Back rail made of 3 boards with top and middle boards having same design as front apron. Side aprons consist of one undecorated board each, as do side rails and back rail. Back posts are vertical from seat downward and angled backward above seat, with step-terrace design at top, sloping upward toward back. Front posts are vertical, ending in (?) joined to arms. Arms are rounded on top and at top of front ends, which project out from front post about one inch, with notch cut out from bottom of arm from (?) post forward. (?) viewer right - mortise(?) broken at top. Back apron middle board has tip missing from cloud terrace design, viewer right.
