    DescriptionA DC-3 Trans World Airlines passenger airplane on the tarmac at Albuquerque Airport. There are several people looking at the airplane from the covered walkway. An oil tanker is parked behind the airplane.
    The DC-3 airplane paved the way for passenger air travel in the United States, and is considered the first aircraft to be able to make money carrying only people. It could take up to 32 passengers at a time and was fast and could also take off from short runways.
