Label Text:Franz Huning was a German immigrant who traveled over the Santa Fe Trail around 1852 to settle in Albuquerque. A prominent businessman and landowner, he built Castle Huning around 1883. His home, formerly one of our city's most stately residences, fell into disrepair by the 1950s and was demolished in 1955.
