This map defines areas of North America governed by Spain until the end of the Spanish-Mexican War in 1821. As Nuevo Mexico opened its doors to trade with the United States, the Santa Fe and Chihuahua trails filled with wagons transporting American goods into the area.

Distances are given in both Spanish leagues and British miles. If one league equals 2.6 miles, how many miles would three leagues add up to?
