DescriptionSpanish ballesta, arbalest, larger than a crossbow, with a mechanism for drawing the string back. Square stock tapering towards a sculpted butt. The top face has two small armorial plaques inlaid into the stock. Just above the plaques is a revolving bone nut. The arms have stamps of the " Lion of León" in a circular ground.
