DescriptionThe Colt Model 1860 Army was the primary sidearm of the U.S. Army during the Civil War. More than 200,000 were made for the military and civilian markets, and it is likely that many were in use at the Post of Albuquerque before the deactivation of 1867. It was considerably smaller than the Colt Dragoon and easier to handle. The barrel was engraved with a scene between the Texas Navy and that of Mexico in the U.S.-Mexican War.
