    DescriptionArmet helmet, iron or steel, c. 1525, German. Closed helmet with roped crest and two part visor. The upper portion being pierced with horizontal vision slits. There are two lames(?) at the back which originally worked on sliding rivets but are now fixed. The helmet is closed by a long plate hinged to the beavor and passing over a turning pin on the lower part of the skull piece.

    According to Jim Kern, acquisitions coordinator in the early 1980s, the helmet had been deaccessioned from the Tower of London. DS 12/28/11.
