DescriptionA morion (helmet) was used by colonizers of what is now known as the United States of America. These helmets were made of steel or iron metals by the Spanish market to be commonly used by those of many European nationalities due to the low production costs. Some higher ranking individuals would engrave these helmets to make them look more elaborate. The helmet is forged from one piece of steel with a open back and front and a high edged brim that forms high peaks in the front and back. The entire surface of this helmet is acid etched with imagery of a drum and a soldier with flag, an eagle, and other flora and fauna. On View
