    DescriptionSteel and brass cabasset or helmet, 16th - 17th centuries, Italian or German. Narrow brim with rolled edges, shallow pear shaped body and 14 brass rosettes around the rim of the helmet.

    The bacinete (cabasset) helmet is a common variety used by European foot soldiers and cavalrymen between 1530 and 1700.
