Label Text:An especially masterful example of the expressive possibilities of the medium, Howard Cook shows here how detailed the woodcut can become, and how fine. Cook’s dynamic use of directional mark making almost defies conventional logic; somehow, thousands of lines going in as many directions coalesce into an instantly recognizable, and felt, night scene at the Taos Pueblo.
