Label Text:One of Howard Cook’s most productive printmaking periods was during his early years in New Mexico, between 1926 and 1929. In Snow and ’Dobe, the strong contrast of white and black in the foreground tapering off into the delicately stippled sky produces a wondrous sense of depth, while viscerally creating a sense of the penetrating wind and cold of a Northern New Mexican winter night.
