DescriptionStudents work on renovating the home economics lab in Nancy Moreno's advanced home economics class at Monroe Junior High School in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The floor is covered in newspaper and three girls are standing on counters working on cleaning and painting the upper cabinetry. The rest of the girls are working on drawers and cabinets. A paint bucket is in the right foreground. There are stoves near the cabinets. A caption attached to the photograph reads, "suggested cutline --- KITCHEN CLEANUP: These girls, members of Mrs. Nancy Moreno's advanced home economics class at Monroe Junior High School, have spent the past month redecorating the school's food lab. The class of 28 was divided into five groups, each working on a separate kitchen unit. Project, which began with lessons in interior decorating and the use of color, is expected to be completed November 4, and a tea will be held for parents shortly thereafter. A large box of chocolates will go to the girls doing the best painting job, Mrs. Moreno said. (Followed by a course in diet cookery, no doubt.) Khanlian 10/31/68".
