DescriptionPromotional poster for MITS World Altair Computer Convention. Two sided poster. Entitled: "Start Here." Reverse reads, "Arrive Here." The MITS World Altair Computer Convention, held in Albuquerque in 1976, was the first personal home computing convention.

In 1969 Ed Roberts and Forrest Mims founded MITS (Micro Instrumentation and Telemetry Systems) to begin manufacturing electronic calculators and, eventually, personal computers. As a result of their innovations, the world’s first trade show for personal computer users—the Altair World Trade Show—was held in March 1976 at the Albuquerque Airport Marina Hotel.
